Catapult exists to unleash the potential of every athlete and team on Earth. Today, the business is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX:CAT) and has over 400+ staff across 24 locations, working with more than 3,800 teams in 40+ sports, including the NFL, EPL, MLB, NHL, AFL, and NCAA.
Originally formed from a partnership between the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and the Cooperative Research Centres (CRC) to maximize the performance of Australian athletes ahead of the Sydney Olympics, Catapult was officially founded in Melbourne in 2006.
The wearable technologies developed by Catapult in its early years were designed to address fundamental questions in sports performance. That purpose has remained at the heart of our work as we’ve grown from an Australian startup to a global leader in sports technology with solutions for every element of the performance ecosystem; from wearable tracking to athlete management and video analysis.
Catapult is committed to making performance technology available to athletes at all levels. As well as working with some of the biggest teams and organizations in sports, we’ve created Catapult One – our athlete tracking device for the consumer market – to enable amateur football & soccer players to monitor their performance like the pros.
We are a company whose pioneering and entrepreneurial spirit has defined us since our founding. Through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisition (specifically XOS in the US and SBG recently in the UK), Catapult continues to lead the way in sports science research and innovation.
